The passionate pioneer

it will steel your heart.

The classic transam returns! After a seven-year hiatus, the reliable trail-shredding hardtail is back in the line-up for a limited time. Now with modern geometry, dual 29-inch wheels, a capable build spec or frameset options, and two classic colour schemes, this will be one to hang on to and pass down for many generations. The updated geo encourages hard-charging but rewards thoughtful line choice. It orchestrates a fast-paced ballet through the landscape of your choosing. The new transam is ready for the core rider looking to get back to their roots.

Simple is fun

for the rider who loves refined simplicity with the feeling of the wind in their face as they rip beautiful ribbons of terra-firma in both directions, we give you the transam. The transam brings a feeling of nostalgia and reminds its rider of that first taste of freedom when they were young.

For those that watch the wizard of oz while listening to the dark side of the moon. For the off-road cyclist. For the person who doesn't always have a plan but knows that whatever lies ahead will be a most excellent adventure. The transam pays homage to the free spirits of yesteryear who found rolling through the mountains on two wheels to be the best way to experience life.

Less is more

tech keeps getting more complicated, the list of features gets longer, and the number of batteries keeps increasing. While we too are a bunch of bike nerds, excited about the latest and greatest, at our core we are mountain bikers who simply care about good dirt and good company. The new transam has no batteries, no motor, no apps, just a chromoly frame that'll last a lifetime. In contrast to the times, we wanted to resurrect a bike that was clean and simple. With just enough updates and features like adjustable sliding dropouts, a udh, and options for different wheel sizes, you can customize your bike to fit your style. Get the complete or the frame, either way, get out there and leave the fuss behind.

5'6"-5'10" Medium

5'10"-6'2" Large

6'2"-6'6" Extra Large

Some sizing notes from Transition:

The days of 120mm stems and 680mm handlebars with bar ends are nearly gone and we feel that an approach to sizing born in that era should go away as well. With progressive trail design and all of the recent changes in bike technology, selecting your frame size is not as cut and dry as it once was. With the huge variety of trail styles, riding styles and bike setup preferences, we would urge you to look beyond your height and inseam to find the right bike size. We want you to have as much fun as possible riding your bike. And in the end we want you to remember, there is no right or wrong size for you (within reason of course).

Take a look at the style of trails you will be riding, and how you would approach them... are they fast and open or tight and technical? Steep or mellow? Do you like to catch air or keep the wheels on the ground? Do you pick the gnarly straight line, or move your bike around on the trail? Did you grow up racing BMX bikes, start off with mountain biking, or get into it from road biking? Want your bike to feel super stable or super agile? All of these factors come into play, and each one is just as important as the others. For example, you can choose to ride a size Large frame and use a 35mm stem and achieve a nearly identical reach as a Medium size frame with a 60mm stem. Each setup can be as capable as the other, while offering a very different feeling ride. Even beyond stem length, depending on how you have answered those questions, you might want to go up or down in size to get the right fit and feel for you and your trails.

In order to reflect those choices, we have updated our sizing chart with a lot more overlap across the size range. We have tried to illustrate the bike sizes we felt would apply to each rider size; but be sure to look at the geometry and make sure the size you are choosing makes sense for your preferences. Everyone is different, plain and simple. The lines have become blurred and there is no strict rule of thumb anymore. When choosing your perfect size, ask yourself these questions, call or email us if you need a second opinion and most importantly... make sure you pick the setup that you feel will be the most fun!
