Long Mynd Cotic Demo day

Last weekend we hosted a Cotic themed demo day, an opportunity to ride the new line of Droplink bikes. The Cotic van was at Hopton on Saturday and Church Stretton on Sunday.

After seeing the popularity of the Cotic Soul, Solaris and BFe for the last few years it was a great to ride the new breed of full suspension bikes and see how they ride. The first thing we noticed in the car park was just how light the bikes are. Cotic use a Steel front triangle and seatstay, with an aluminium chainstay. The expectation is that these bikes might be a little heavy but just like the hardtail range, premium steel outweighs average aluminium on many levels.

Rocket and Flare Max: 29” ain’t dead that is for sure, short or long travel the two new Max bikes offer the choice of extra grip with 27”+ or super fast 29” wheels. For the Long Mynd we think the 29” option is a winner.

But has the Flare got Soul. Oh yes, the Soul has always been light and responsive, agile and fun. The Flare is long and low and takes the Soul to the next level. Be it 27.5” or the Max variant this bike will outperform many a long travel trail bike and it’s the new trail bike of choice here at PHC.

We have further demo events planned for the future, such is the PHC way we won’t be having any big budget demo trucks rolling into town anytime soon but prefer to keep things low key and focused on the riders. If you want to demo a bike from any of our brands, please get in touch, in the meantime look out for a Telford demo coming soon.
